Rising

When her mother dies of an overdose, Symone, the mixed-race daughter of a black prostitute, is adopted by Ridge and Madeline, a wealthy but abusive white couple. Years later, grown up, Symone, opens an art gallery. Her father buys out her partner and tries to run both Symone's business and her life.
